POLAR INSPIRATION HAWAII

About
My name is Shannon Guzzo
After decades of mostly financial management positions, I landed in a Long-Term Care sales position in northern CA. Immediately I learned how prevalent Alzheimer’s Disease is in our society, and how devastating it is on the families. My sales team always showed up big time with donation competitions, and participation in the Memory Walks.
At the same time, I recognized how energized and motivated I became with extreme goals, rather than routine activities. Quoting from the New England Council’s memorable slogan “A rising tide lifts all the boats”, I noticed that when I worked toward an extreme goal in one aspect of life, all aspects seem to benefit. I applied the “rising tide” effect to business and personal goals with great results. Thus, was born Polar Inspiration, and the 2015 North Pole expedition.
I did not want the North Pole expedition to be just my own indulgence, so I combined it with 2 other themes:
- “Taking Your Dreams to the Top of the World” was my way to invite others to express their wildest dreams.
- “Walk to the Pole for Alzheimer’s” was the connection to the fundraising Walks that the Alzheimer’s Assoc schedules all over the country every year. It was also a bit of humor; my skiing was so bad that I pretty much did “walk” to the Pole!
Today I live in Hawaii, and it made sense to recreate Polar Inspiration with an island theme. Mahalo for your support!
